Atlanta-based Jamestown announced that it is under an agreement to purchase the Atlanta office of North American Properties and take a stake in its portfolio of $2 Billion of assets under management, including interest in Midtown’s Colony Square and The Forum Peachtree Corners, which North American is redeveloping.

Equity Residential (EQR) and Blackstone said that Equity Residential has agreed to acquire 11 apartment properties from Blackstone Real Estate strategies in separate transactions, including Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, Blackstone Real Estate Partners, and Blackstone Property Partners, for approximately $964 Million. The transactions are expected to close later in the third quarter.

David Brickman is stepping down as CEO of NewPoint Real Estate Capital, four years after the lender was formed. The multifamily lender has appointed Nick Gesue, founder and CEO of Alder View Capital, as the firm’s new leader, effective immediately. Brickman will continue with the company as a strategic adviser to NewPoint Impact, the firm’s affordable housing finance joint venture with Morgan Properties.

BlackRock has expanded Tomoko Ueda’s role to include Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific, as the world’s biggest asset manager continues to reconfigure its regional team. Ueda joined BlackRock from Nikko Asset Management in 2022 and currently serves as APAC Head of Corporate Strategy and Development. With her appointment to regional COO, effective on 3 September, she succeeds James Raby, who is relocating to New York to lead global compliance.
