Amazon.com Inc’s (AMZN.O) cloud services division said Friday it plans to invest another $35 Billion by 2040 to expand data centers in Virginia. Amazon Web Services (AWS) said the new investment will create 1,000 jobs. Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin said AWS will establish multiple data center campuses across Virginia. In 2021, AWS said from 2011 to 2020 it had invested $35 Billion in data centers located in northern Virginia and had 3,500 full-time employees at its data centers in the state.

Inland Real Estate Acquisitions, LLC (“Inland Acquisitions”) announced today that it negotiated and closed the purchase of approximately $1.2 Billion in multifamily properties on behalf of Inland-related entities throughout 2022. The acquisitions total 4,313 rental units and more than 2 Million Square Feet across 6 states located in the South and Western United States.
Reuters | “Blackstone in Talks with Bain Capital to Sell $480 Million Stake in Embassy Office Parks”
Blackstone is in talks to sell around half of its stake in India’s largest real estate investment trust Embassy Office Parks to private equity firm Bain Capital, two sources said, in a deal worth up to $480 Million at current prices. A deal would mark U.S.-based Bain’s first REIT investment in India where office space is drawing in investors as many workers have returned to offices with the waning of the COVID-19 pandemic. For Blackstone, it would mean a further selldown of its Embassy stake as it adjusts its portfolio.

Nuveen Real Estate has appointed Randy Giraldo to lead its $24.4 Billion (€22 Billion) European business. Giraldo, who was most recently the lead portfolio manager of the $30 Billion real estate account for Nuveen’s parent TIAA, has been appointed head of Europe. He joined the company in 2008 and has since held acquisitions and portfolio management positions focused both in the US and Latin America. Giraldo will join the global executive leadership team helping to shape Nuveen’s strategy across the region and setting a clear vision for the future.
