Amazon plans to spend $10 Billion on new data centers in North Carolina to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure. Amazon has earmarked up to $100 Billion this year on capital expenditures, with the lion’s share going to AI-related projects. Like other major tech companies, Amazon is racing to build out its capacity to power AI tasks to keep pace with rivals including Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI. The company said in January it would spend at least $11 Billion in Georgia to build new data centers to support cloud computing and AI demand.
IPE Real Assets | “BGO Secures Record $5 Billion Raise for Asia Value Add Real Estate Strategy”
BGO has raised over $5.1 Billion for its Asia-focused value-add real estate strategy, representing the firm’s largest closed-ended fundraise to date. The fund manager said the capital raised for the BentallGreenOak Asia IV (BGO Asia Fund IV) fund and co-investment sidecars was secured from 45 institutional limited partners. BGO Asia Fund IV’s investor base included 44% from the US, 24% from Asia, and 23% from the Middle East, as well as contributions from Canada and Europe, BGO added.
Starwood Capital Group has held closings for its private credit focused vehicles: Starwood Real Estate Debt Strategies U.S. (SREDS), Starwood European Real Estate Debt Finance II (SEREDF II), and Starwood Australian Real Estate Debt Finance Trust I (SAREDF). Together with related co-investment vehicles, these closings represent total capital commitments of $2.86 Billion. “We’re incredibly excited to leverage our team’s expertise and continue building on Starwood Capital’s long-standing success in real estate credit,” said Barry Sternlicht, Chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital.

A2Dominion has appointed Priya Javeri as its first ever Chief Information Officer on a permanent basis. Javeri previously held the role as a six-month interim position since late 2024, joining from the London Borough of Enfield, where she was Interim Director of Digital, Data, and Technology Services. In her new role, she will oversee the 38,000-home social landlord across its IT functions, including improving its technology for customers and staff.
