Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) Webinar Series | Update on SEC Proposed Rules and Governmental Programs
ESG becomes increasingly more important to businesses, their investors and their customers, this webinar series looks to shed light on the myriad forms that environmental, social and governance strategies can take for companies committed to having an equitable and sustainable impact on their balance sheets, their employees, their communities and the world at large.
Investments in real estate and development are now being evaluated for ESG sustainability by and for players in capital markets. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission earlier this year proposed wide-ranging new rules regarding climate disclosure that impact boards and senior management. They would require verification of various disclosures and measurement and verification of Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions for various reporting companies. With ramped-up enforcement potentially looming around the corner comes a greater urgency for review of existing protocols, programs and compliance, especially in avoiding misleading claims.
