September 2023 | RealFoundations (RF) helps real estate companies design and implement collaborative, digital-first workplaces that operate at maximum efficiency. From these efforts, RF earned acclaim in the recently published SWOOP Analytics Benchmark 2023 Report which analyzes the state of digital collaboration and features both Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams applications. SWOOP’s benchmarking methodology draws on extensive research to define key attributes of high-performing teams and utilizes real-time, online measures aligned with factors including two-way relationships, active engagement, knowledge-seeking curiosity and more.

The result? A predictive Team Performance Index that compares team activities against top KPIs identified from research literature, then ranks them accordingly. In 2023, SWOOP Analytics analyzed the digital behaviors of more than 266,000 Microsoft 365 users across 19 organizations and 67,727 Microsoft Teams users across 17 organizations, all of which were operating in some form of a hybrid working arrangement.

Embracing the Challenges of Hybrid Work

As explained in the case study titled “Futures: Hybrid work – where to now?” (pages 97-102), hybrid working (a flexible combination of remote and in-office work) is proving to be the challenge of a generation. The COVID-19 pandemic brought remote work to the forefront, forcing organizations to adapt quickly, with employee connection and communication serving as key factors in making hybrid work successful. Previously, in-office meetings were the norm, but now they require careful consideration – Microsoft emphasizes the need to assess whether in-person meetings are worth disrupting employees’ daily work.

Further highlighted is the need to transform office spaces into innovative working hubs where employees can come together, as needed, for face-to-face interactions to both energize and inspire one another. Organizations can track employee working patterns and identify optimal times for such in-person meetings by leveraging data analytics.
