RealFoundations Sponsors “Corks for a Cause 2024”

October 2024 | Denver, Colorado – RealFoundations proudly sponsored the “Corks for a Cause” fundraiser, an incredible event dedicated to support Gateway Domestic Violence Services. This organization is the only one of its kind focused on assisting victims of domestic violence in Aurora and Arapahoe Country, Colorado. This Annual Benefit was held to raise funds for programs that provide support to domestic violence victims, children, and family pets in the local Denver community.

About Gateway Domestic Violence Services

Gateway Domestic Violence Services since 1979 – originally known as the Gateway Battered Women’s Shelter – has been at the forefront of the fight against intimate partner violence. Domestic violence affects men, women, and children. In the United States, 35.6% of women and 28.5% of men have experienced some form of domestic violence (including rape, physical violence, or stalking) by an intimate partner in their lifetime. Gateway offers 24/7 crisis hotline, emergency and extended shelter, counseling, residential care, court advocacy and programs designed to empower individuals for social change. Gateway is inclusive serving everyone – women, men, non-binary individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community – with around 25% of those served being dependent children. Remarkably, they even offer emergency shelter for family pets, recognizing that pets are often victims too when families seek safety from domestic violence. The organization receives more than 9,000 crisis calls, provides 10,000+ nights of residential care for families and their pets and assists with 2,000+ court advocacy cases for domestic violence victims each year.
