Chris Shaida is an Enterprise Managing Consultant and founder of RealFoundations. Chris brings over 23 years of real estate industry experience to RealFoundations. He has played an essential role in building and managing real estate information technology consulting practices both within a “Big 4” management consulting firm and a real estate focused professional services firm. Mr. Shaida founded RealFoundations to provide a place where like-minded professionals are able focus their deep industry and solution knowledge and passion to help improve the operations of our real estate industry and corporate real estate clients.
Mr. Shaida has experience in each of our defined market sectors, with particular depth of knowledge in the Homebuilder and Corporate Real Estate segments. Mr. Shaida and his teams have served as trusted business advisors to some of the most recognized names in the Real Estate Industry, including: Kaufman & Broad, Hovnanian, Centex, Shea Homes, GIC and Simon Properties.
Prior to founding RealFoundations, Mr. Shaida was a Partner in the Real Estate Information Technology Practice of both Ernst & Young and Kenneth Leventhal & Company. Before joining Kenneth Leventhal & Company, Mr. Shaida served as the CIO of a multi-national construction services company.

Mark Callin has 20 years combined experience in providing strategic, financial, business improvement and technology services to clients in the real estate industry. Mark is highly experienced in providing operational and systems integration services to private and public builders and developers. He has extensive knowledge of construction/homebuilding, development operations and financial business processes as well as the technologies used to support those operations.
Mark is a recognized leader and sought after for his expertise in providing strategic planning, diagnostic analysis, business process improvement, solution blueprint, systems integration, solution implementation, merger integration, and program/ project management services to the building industry.
Prior to founding Real Foundations, Mark was Consulting Area Managing Partner for the Engineering, Construction and Real Estate practice with Ernst & Young LLP and a Senior Auditor specializing in the real estate industry with KPMG Peat Marwick. He is a licensed CPA in the State of California.

David Stanford is an Enterprise Managing Consultant and founder of RealFoundations with over 20 years of experience providing strategic financial and operational improvement services to clients in the property and building industries. Mr. Stanford leads our Owner/Operator and Investment Management practices and is responsible for the corporate development activities of our firm. Additionally, he is responsible for implementing the global presence and alliance program of RealFoundations.
David is highly experienced in providing large-scale operational and systems integration services to private and public real estate owner/operators and institutional investors. He has directed client teams in the execution of large business improvement projects, long-range technology plans, packaged technology selections and solution implementations. Mr. Stanford is also highly experienced in assisting management teams with the alignment of business strategy and operational execution. Some of his clients include the most respected real estate organizations in the world, including: AIMCO, Duke, GIC, ING, Bank of America, Walmart, Forest City Enterprises, Hines Interests, ProLogis and Westfield Group.
Prior to founding RealFoundations Mr. Stanford was the Area Managing Partner of Ernst & Young's real estate practice in Dallas. He also worked in the Transaction Advisory group of Kenneth Leventhal & Company.

Justyna Brooks is the Human Resources Generalist for RealFoundations. Justyna has 8 years of experience in full life cycle recruiting and talent management with her recent focus having been solely on leading the human resource function at RealFoundations. Her professional career track has included recruitment, employee relations, coordinating and implementing HR policies and procedures, administration of payroll and benefits, and compliance.
Through her experience, Justyna has developed an exceptional background in people and recruitment and a professional style based on integrity, excellent communication, and superior high-touch customer service.
Prior to joining RealFoundations in October of 2007, Justyna was a Creative Recruiter for Update Graphics working with top creative firms in New York City.

Tony Dodder is a Director with RealFoundations with 17+ years of experience providing leadership in the acquisition and development of Talent and Resources. Tony leads the Resource function at RealFoundations. Mr. Dodder and his team have worked at some of the most respected professional service organizations in the world helping them deliver high quality management consulting projects for their clients.
Previously, Mr. Dodder led Cap Gemini Ernst & Young’s Resource Management Team for the J.D. Edwards practice. In addition, Tony was a key contributor to the creation of Ernst & Young’s virtual IT deployment center, Net-Strike Worldwide.
Tony has an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Master in Organizational Development.

Katie Tooker is the Controller for RealFoundations. Katie has 12 years of experience with RF and served as Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller and was promoted to Controller in 2012. Katie is responsible for the management and oversight of the global finance, accounting and reporting activities and operation analysis.
Prior to joining RealFoundations in August 2006, Katie served as a Senior Staff Accountant for Omnicom Management Services, where she was responsible for providing finance reporting and analysis to Omnicom agencies. Katie is a certified public accountant and lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband and children.
Alan is a Senior Managing Consulting with RealFoundations. He has over 25 years combined experience working and serving clients in the homebuilding, construction, development and property management market sectors, implementing systems and streamlining business processes for companies with residential, retail, commercial and marina assets. Alan’s extensive experience in construction accounting and property management technology, along with hands-on experience in facilities management, tenant coordination, acquisitions, corporate accounting, budgeting, projections and finance provide the platform to deliver exceptional results in the areas of process improvement and system design.
Prior to RealFoundations, Alan worked with The Irvine Company, Donahue Schriber, Mexico Development Partners, Turnstone Corporation and in Public Accounting. With those companies he not only implemented and migrated multiple ERP, job-cost and property management accounting packages, he was also involved in the inner-workings of property development, construction, leasing and property management. He intimately understands the business, the pitfalls to avoid and how to make real estate companies run better.
He currently resides in Newport Beach, California.
Paul Chen is a Lead Managing Consultant with RealFoundations with 20+ years of real estate experience in North America and Asia. Paul has worked with some of the largest real estate investors, developers, and operators in Asia and the Middle East. He has helped real estate companies to improve operating platforms and to enhance performance through optimizing business processes, organizational capabilities, and technology accelerators. Over the past few years, Paul has worked with real estate companies to develop data models and forward-looking analytics capabilities to increase transparency and enhance performance.
Paul is active with industry organizations and is a frequent presenter at real estate conferences. Paul has supported the APREA Best Practices Handbook by writing a “how to” implementation guide and was a presenter at the APREA Best Practices Awards. He is also a Vice-Chairman of the China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Chapter, an organization devoted to bridging business opportunities between Greater China real estate businesses.
Paul has an undergraduate degree in Economics from UC Berkeley and received his MBA from the University of North Carolina. He is also fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese.

Brian Daugherty is a Senior Managing Consultant with RealFoundations. Brian is an accomplished accounting and financial systems expert with over 15 years of systems implementation expertise specifically within the real estate industry. He is highly skilled in accounting, finance, and technology over a variety of industries including real estate, manufacturing, retail and utilities. Brian is also well versed in designing and implementing effective operational, organizational, and technical strategies to help real estate companies run better.
Prior to joining RealFoundations, Brian was a successful implementation consultant with MRI Software, LLC leading a number of successful, large and complex implementation efforts for owner-operators, public REITs, and pension funds, respectfully. Prior to MRI, Brian ran the lease accounting department at Glimcher Realty Trust (now Washington Prime Group) where he was responsible for lease administration, lease accounting, occupancy analysis, and SEC reporting.

Barry Faulkner is a Senior Managing Consultant with RealFoundations. He has over 25+ years of management and consulting experience in the real estate industry. Barry’s positions prior to RealFoundations include; Senior Vice President managing a $8 billion National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF) Fund for Institutional Investors with responsibilities including portfolio management, investment committee membership, reporting/analytics, and new product development; Senior Consulting Roles with a real estate client base including the largest U.S. office and multifamily REITs, worldwide real estate service providers, government sponsored enterprises, and the Department of Defense; and Vice President of a disruptive technology company focusing on real estate procurement.
Barry’s work has centered on business strategy development and implementation, merger integration, shared services implementation, operational improvement, new product development, and change management. He has extensive operational and investment experience with office, multifamily, industrial, and retail assets as well as real estate fund operations. He also served as Chairman of Portfolio Management Committee at NCREIF from 2011 to 2015. Barry earned his MBA from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business with a focus on real estate and strategy.

John Holzman is an Enterprise Managing Consultant with RealFoundations. Prior to joining RealFoundations in December 2003, John served as the Chief Operating Officer of a boutique event design and production company in New York. He also helped launch an Internet start-up firm, and spent two years as a Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young’s High Growth Middle Market Consulting practice. John earned his MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 1998, with a focus on Management.

Rob brings over 15 years of experience in the Real Estate industry working with Investment Managers, Owner/Operators and Developers. He has extensive experience with multinational real estate clients operating in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America advising on technology and strategic initiatives.
Over the last 15 years Rob has been responsible for the design of strategic, technology and operating models, solution selections, multinational technology implementations and business process design. Prior to joining RealFoundations, Mr. Kearnes operated his own real estate technology consultancy based in London and was part of the retail centre management team for a large CBD mall situated in Sydney, Australia.

John brings over 25 years of real estate leadership and experience to RealFoundations. John is a CPA, CMA, CFM and CGMA. John is a former Chief Accounting Officer and formerly served as Vice-President of Shared Services for a large publicly traded office REIT, and Vice-President of Property Accounting for a large privately held retail REIT. He has significant real estate experience and his clients have included one of the largest mall owners in the world, a multi-family, office and retail firm, a retailer, one of the nation’s largest owners of single family homes, and several multi-family companies. His experience includes real estate property and corporate accounting, managed services and data governance with an emphasis on process analysis and improvement initiatives.
John is a former Chair of the Institute of Management Accountants, and former Chair of the Board of Regents of theInstitute of Certified Management Accountants. He has authored over two dozen articles on accounting and operational issues for Management Accounting and Strategic Finance magazines. “His most recent article: “The Path Forward for Accounting,” appeared in the March, 2017 issue of Strategic Finance.”
Ron has over 20 years of real estate experience with a core focus on Business Process Outsourcing "BPO" and Enterprise Technology Solutions for the commercial real estate industry, including: REITs, advisors, brokers, insurance and financial institutions. Ron is responsible for Business Development and Customer Relationships leading the joint development and implementation of clients key strategic projects or long term solutions that reduce back office costs, increase efficiencies, and streamline operations.
Prior to RealFoundations, Ron was a Vice President at Accenture Credit Services and formed the “Real Estate Equity Service group” at RR Donnelley Global Outsourcing.
Karen Gillen is a Director with RealFoundations responsible for developing new products, starting with a new Data Service for its Managed Services group. With over 15 years in the financial services industry and particular expertise in real estate and private equity, she is highly experienced in envisioning and executing large scale business change initiatives, operations build outs, business and technology integrations, and commercialization of new products and services.
Previously, she undertook a variety of change efforts at J.P. Morgan including managing the integration and commercialization of J.P. Morgan Partners’ private equity accounting and technology capabilities into a third party business within Alternative Investment Services.
Karen also drove the successful expansion of J.P. Morgan’s private equity fund accounting services to real estate and infrastructure institutional investor clients.

John brings 7 years of experience in managed services accounting engagements with oversight in all facets of outsourcing engagements including sales support, pilot development, transition planning and process transitioning. He has also developed significant knowledge of property accounting operations, client reporting and performance measurement principles.
Mr. MacMullen’s background also includes serving as the Director of Real Estate Accounting at a major REIT with $4.5 billion in assets as well as over 10 years of client reporting experience with one of the largest real estate investment advisory firms.

Lauren Stokes is a Director with RealFoundations and leads the Technology Services practice which provides application, end user and infrastructure support services to real estate companies. She has over 15 years’ experience, both domestically and internationally, providing management consulting and technology advisory services in the real estate industry. Lauren has executed projects for clients around application optimization, performance management, reporting and data governance. In her current position, Lauren plays an integral role in envisioning and deploying technology to enable automation and drive efficiencies within organizations.

He has 15+ years of success in high-profile sales, business development and operations leadership and delivers year over year revenue, profit, margin and cost results. John has transformed inefficient and ineffective departments and groups into cohesive and dedicated teams driven to achieve unparalleled results. He co-chaired the development of the go-to-market plan for Energy Supply Advisory service focused on mid-market accounts list, as well as led the process redesign of Procurement Operations that resulted in a 35% reduction in headcount and streamlined the RFP and vendor selection.
Prior to joining RealFoundations, John served as the Vice President of Sales for Ecova, a total energy and sustainability management company, and as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Client Operations for LPB Energy Management (acquired by Ecova 2012). John began his professional career with XO Communications in 1996 where he held a number of management roles.
John joined RealFoundations in 2015 and manages the Energy Operations Support for RealFoundations Managed Services.
Julius Caten is a Specialist with RealFoundations. He has over 25 years of experience in the technology, real estate and energy industries. Julius has driven projects related to energy management strategy, energy operations, enterprise energy management and performance reporting. He has also designed and implemented large scale Wi-Fi and building automation systems, access control systems, visitor management systems, meter reading systems (electric, water, gas), and both voice and WAN and LAN data telecommunications for wireless and wire line, wireless vehicle, people, and asset location.
Prior to joining RealFoundations, Julius served as Chief Information Officer for R.E. Technologies providing the Multi-Family industry with Internet based leasing, tracking, and lead generation tools. While at R.E. Technologies he was a founding member of the NMHC MITS data standards group and served as the co-chair of the data standards committee that produced the MITS standard.
